Story
This is the first part of a trilogy that will probably go down in history as the greatest porn film ever made. Certainly the sexiest. And with a cast like Rita Faltoyano, Mandy Bright, Petra Short, Barby, Tina, Tiffany, Diane, Lara, Pocahontas, Cindy, Dorothy, Toni Ribas, Frank Gun, David Perry, Mike Foster, Nick Lang, Choky Ice, Steve Holmes, Alberto Rey, Bob Terminator, Claudio Villa, Diether Von Stein, Karl Ben, and some 150 others, all directed by the genius Antonio Adamo, you are in for a treat of the first order.
Known officially as "The Private Gladiator" (to avoid confusion with the mainstream Russell Crowe movie or the one from Pleasure), this epic utilizes techniques and production values from mainstream cinema to create a new standard in adult filmmaking. Adamo took cast and crew to Hungary and Italy and used many of the sets from the mainstream movie to house the Hollywood-style production and its 3D digital effects, wild animals, over two hundred extras, and detailed costumes and studio sets, including a full-sized replica of a Roman arena.
This first part of the trilogy is being released in this special collector’s edition as a two-DVD set which contains the film plus a separate disc of extras, including the director's cut, the making of the film, interviews, as well as a booklet with production notes and photos.
Relying heavily on the story from the Crowe movie, Toni Ribas stars as Maxximus, the conquering general who becomes a prisoner who becomes a gladiator and he makes the part his, refusing to ape or mimic any of Crowe’s emotions (or should we say “either” of his emotions). The scenes between Ribas and Frank Gun (the corrupt emperor, Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix) crackle with tension.
And the sex scenes are all juicy and powerful. There are six long scenes, and Toni Ribas the general turned prisoner turned gladiator in this video set in ancient Rome, where celebratory post-victory orgies are the order of the day. Six sex scenes, including two fantastic orgies with loads of lovely women, and plenty of DPs and double anals and facials and every sort of sex scene imaginable.
According to the documentary on the second disk “The atmosphere on the set is one of excitement as actresses and actors alike are caught up in the excitement of appearing in this groundbreaking production. Both in the comedy and in the red hot hardcore scenes, the sensation of the enormity of the project is transmitted clearly by the enthusiasm of the cast to act to perfection, and by their obvious enjoyment of the sex scenes, and with the pure physical form of girls and guys alike it is not hard to see why the enjoyment is so obviously for real. With a breathtaking set that incorporates a full sized reconstruction of the arena in Malta where Ridley Scott filmed the coliseum scenes from his "Gladiator", production advisors from the Italian traditional cinema industry, and over 200 extras; the movie will incorporate the latest digital effects, wild animals, and a vast array of authentic props including items from the original Gladiator production. The atmosphere on the set is more like a Hollywood production with dozens of technicians, wardrobe people, make-up team, carpenters and painters, creating a hive of activity 14 hours a day as cast and crew go about the business of construction, costume fitting, make-up…until the moment when Mr. Adamo picks up his megaphone and shouts "action" and silence descends as the cameras start to roll.”
